VIS Island – Hidden Dalmatian Gem

Blue grotto or Blue cave together with Green cave is one of many Croatian wonders of nature. It is a water-logged sea cave in a small bay called Balun, on the east side of the island of Biševo and about 4.5 nautical miles (8.3 km) from Komiža on Vis Island, in the Croatian Adriatic. It is situated in the central Dalmatian archipelago, 5 km south-west of Vis island.

Blue Cave is one of the best known natural beauty spots on the Adriatic and a popular boat trip destination because of the glowing blue light that appears at certain times of day. Reaching Blue cave is possible only by boat so booking a private boat excursion is your obvious choice if you want to see this diamond.

After the end of your visit, you will head for Komiža village. Situated in a deep bay, whose eastern coast abounds with large pebble beaches (Kamenica, Gusarica, Nova Pošta, Velo Žalo), Komiža offers excellent visitor opportunities: numerous cultural and historic sites, monasteries and fortresses. It is famous for its fishermen history and tradition.

Hvar…what to write about Hvar that has not been written already?! Hvar is perhaps the Croatian hotspot number one. It is picturesque medieval city that breaths in a modern way. There, you can see “ordinary” tourists just walking around with tour guides or exploring the city’s rich cultural and historical heritage on their own. On the other side, you will also be able to see the celebrities form all over the world enjoying glass of champagne onboard their super yachts.

When in Hvar, make sure you listen to your skipper’s advice as he will surly instruct you to visit a cathedral and medieval fortress located on top of the hill above the town. When you are done with sightseeing and free time, head for Paklinski islands or Pakleni Islands. It is a group of islands south of Hvar town, very popular among tourists and yachtsmen. There are plenty of coves and bays and among them most popular is definitely Vinogradišće bay or South Palmižana bay. Palmižana is true piece of heaven on Earth, with its rich vegetations, cristaly clear sea and amazing restaurants like Meneghello and Toto’s.

Finish you trip in style – having a drink in Laganini lounge bar in South Palmižana bay!
